About Us

Why be boring?

The Okashii Shop, created by Anita Flowers and Jordan Kelley, is a US-based illustration brand that stands out with its bold use of pink and black, showcasing unique motifs of bunnies, knives, and alternative fashion. Inspired by Japanese alt-fashion, Emo/Scene aesthetics, and African American street style, the brand has cultivated a distinctive visual identity. Their work has been featured at the Tekko fashion show and numerous pop-up events across the country, celebrating their innovative fusion of cultures and styles.

Our Mission

Why settle for the ordinary? We strive to elevate the representation of Black and brown individuals in alternative fashion, celebrating diversity and self-expression in every style.

The brand, formerly known as Oddish Fashion, was founded in the fall of 2015, the very year Anita and Jordan first crossed paths. Today, their creations are showcased at Culture Art Studios in Winston-Salem, NC.

Origin Story

Anita Flowers and Jordan Kelley became fast friends as freshman roommates at Columbia College Chicago, bonding over their shared passions for Japanese street fashion, anime, and all things kawaii. The launch of Okashii marked a new chapter for them. Since then, they’ve been featured in fashion shows and have sold their designs at pop-up markets and anime conventions nationwide. Currently, they are focused on nurturing their community and expanding their shop.
